Tourist trail and challenging routes : there is something to suit all tastes

Finistère, a land for bike rides...

Finistère offers a wide range of narrow cycling routes winding accross beautiful landscapes, sometimes hilly, sometimes flat, ideal for a ride but also suitable for sporty people.

Cycling clubs have made up numerous trails for all types of riders to discoverthe treasures of our landscapes.

Don't hesitate to contact the tourist offices and federations : FFCT (Fédération Française de Cylotourisme) and FFC (Fédération Française de Cyclisme) (websites in French only)..

Conquer Monts d’Arrée - with a little help!

Wouldn't it be great to enjoy the beautiful landscapes of the Monts d’Arrée even if you're not terribly sporty? Thankfully, a bright spark in Plonéour Menez thought of introducing VAE (vélos à assitance électrique) which are electrically-assisted bikes, capable of travelling 70 km on one charged battery, an extremely comfortable and leisurely option for exploring this increible region.

At the foot of the Monts d'Arrée you'll find a VAE rental point, for pleasure without the pain. Three circuits have been designed for this type of bike, using country roads: the Abbey Circuit (18km), the Weavers Circuit (26km) and the Wolf Circuit (45km).

Good to know : Each circuit has a map showing the relevant sites and stop-offs, and each cyclist is provided with a helmet and fluorescent vest for safety.

What to see : Go and discover the rich rural heritage, the Abbaye du Relec, Musée du Loup wolf museum, the remarkable countryside of Cragou, Trédudon le Moine (Brittany's first Resistance village), the recently improved Green Way of Morlaix-Carhaix , the weavers' houses, the unusual parish churchyards of Plounéour Menez... and of course the legendary Monts d'Arrée.
