Pont l'Abbé is a town at the heart of bigoudène tradition

A fine place for shopping

Beating steadily at the heart of Bigouden country, Pont-l'Abbé offers a mosaïc of some 250 businesses that include unique interior design stores, antique shops and bric-à-brac shops where you can rummage for a hidden treasure, a dozen art galleries, a town centre of pleasant and interesting shops to cater to almost every need and of course three additional shopping centres on the outskirts serving many neighbouring towns.

Every Thursday morning, the weekly market welcomes stalls selling regional specialities, locally-grown produce, clothing, homeware, gifts, crafts and of course edible goodies waiting to tempt you...

A bit of culture in Pont-l'Abbé

Head fo the Musée Bigouden, housed in the ancient medieval Donjon that once belonged to the château of the Barons. The museum has four exhibition rooms that take visitors through rural and maritime life, furniture, crafts, richly-embroidered clothing typical of the area in times gone by and traditional costume - all of which results in a fine collection well worth a visit.

At the Maison du Pays Bigouden or Ecomusée you'll learn about every day life through the living spaces, stables, piggery and other outbuildings that are all built from granite blocks covered with slate. The well, the pump and the stone trough complete the first-hand experience.

Finally, the cultural centre of Pont-l'Abbé is Le Triskell, offering a whole programme of diverse and lively events all year round.
