You are here

Built on a promontory, the medieval town of Pont-Croix is bordered by the tranquil waters of the River Goyen, with its adorable little tidal mill.

Countless artists have come to set up their easels here in the picturesque streets of Pont-Croix. And that’s not surprising when you take a look around! Cobbled streets criss-cross the centre, bringing you back to either the market square or to the Place de l’Eglise with its magnificent church.

A spot of culture in Pont-Croix

Pont-Croix is, unsurprisingly, a haven for artists and craftspeople from calligraphers to woodcarvers, who are drawn to the beautiful architecture, the history and the surrounding countryside. As a result, there are exhibitions here all year round.

There are also two modest museums: Le Marquisat, a noble dwelling dating back to the 15th century but whose interior has been recreated to reflect those of the 1930s; La Maison Commune, former court of law, opens its doors to help you learn more about the history and heritage of this charming little town.
