Île Tristan

Île Tristan is a gem that covers around 17 acres. Since 1995 it has been protected by the French Coastal Protection Agency and is managed by the nearby town of Douarnenez. The island has a rich diversity of landscapes and atmosphere: prairie, orchard, exotic garden, a small fort and a manor house. Marked with history and legend, the presence of the Gallo-Romans, the bandit "la Fontenelle", the tinning factory, the poet Richepin, all these traces affect visitors differently. For the chance to discover and to explore the island, as at the Tourist Office of Douarnenez Bay or go to the town’s website. The island is accessible at set times, when accompanied, at low tide.
