Cyclists on Roscoff

The lighthouse trail

A surprising journey at the edge of the world, along the wild Breton coast, which shows itself off in all its colours! From one port to the next, you’ll cycle from beautiful Morlaix to historic Roscoff, and on to Brest, home of the great French dockyards. In between, you’ll thread your way through little historic villages with their granite houses, follow the line of long sandy beaches and the dramatic jagged coastline.

The most beautiful places often have the most character. Here, you’re sure to be affected by both the elements and the local people. The whole region owes its identity to these two forces. The elements and the locals might seem to be formidably strong but they still know how to offer a warm welcome to visitors. Let your curiosity get the better of you, come and explore and find out readily the local people will share their pride in their region.

Lining the trail, you’ll see the famous lighthouse that still help sailors day and night – for you, they’ll be your markers to show how many kilometres you’ve travelled. They also provide an opportunity to appreciate these architectural works of art, and no doubt take a few photos!

French pastries and seafood will ensure you keep up your energy levels, but Brittany is also renowned for its fresh vegetables and local meat so you’ll enjoy a varied diet. After all that cycling, the local cuisine is sure to satisfy even the hungriest among you and to please the most discerning of palates!
