In Finistère, one can find also delicious jams! And it is also home to the Best jam maker in France!

Jean-Marie Guilbault, a former Michelin-starred chef, became jam maker (confiturier). It is in the kitchen of Letty's farm in Bénodet that this chef creates the most original flavours: fruit jams, fruit and vegetable confits (sweet and sour, achar, chutney, pickles...) and cooked vegetables.

Apple confit with Breton 'pommeau', stawberry 'royal' jam or small onions confit with honey, Jean-Marie Guilbault imagines unusual recipes with carefully chosen products.

The Atelier des Saveurs has been awarded 'Meilleur confiturier de France' (France's best jam maker) in 2011 for its strawberry and celery jam with wild pepper.

Next to the kitchen, a shop allows the visitors to buy these delicious products as well as other local products, books... It is open from Monday to Friday during public holidays (Christmas, Easter, summer), from 3 pm to 7 pm.

L'atelier des saveurs is also

  • the 2002 award of France's best sweet for its caramel made from buckwheat (salon Intersuc)
  • the 2007 award 'saveur bretonne à découvrir' (Breton flavour to discover) for 'Ar ro mad', a vegetable confit (trophées de la gastronomie bretonne in Quiberon)
  • the 2008 bronze medal for its strawberry jams (trophées de la gastronomie bretonne in Quiberon)
