By train, by plane or by car: here's the information you need to get to Finistère...

The airports of Brest (Brest Bretagne) and Quimper (Quimper-Cornouaille) cover the north and south of the region. There are no toll-roads in Finistère, so the motorways coming from Rennes or Nantes direction allow you to access the whole of Finistère easily, conveniently and free of charge.  

By car

Every road are free in Finistère and well-maintained. The N12 between Rennes and Brest, the N164 crossing Brittany in the centre and the N165 between Nantes and Brest (by Quimper) are nice motorways (speed limit : 110km/h).

Guidelines for travel times to Finistère by car:
  • From Rennes or Nantes : 2 heures
  • From Caen : 3h30
  • From Paris or Bordeaux : 5 heures
  • From Lille or Toulouse : 7 heures
  • From Lyon : 8h30
  • From Marseille : 10h30

By plane

It is so easy to come to Finistère by plane! The two airports (Brest & Quimper) have all the services you may need: restaurants, car rental, taxi, bus and even shops.

From / To Brest :

Paris, Lyon, Marseille, Bordeaux, Birmimgham, Southampton, Manchester, Toulon, Barcelone, Montpellier, Ajaccio, Bastia, Toulouse, Ouessant, Strasbourg, Lille, Nice.

From London, you can come via Paris airports or use the line between Brest and Luton Airport.

By train

Every day, the TGV high-speed train offers direct routes throughout Finistère, at the best possible prices. 
On board, you can relax and enjoy the journey, knowing that your holiday begins the moment you step on the train. Taking the train means that you'll arrive at your destination refreshed and ready to make the most of all that West Brittany has on offer including that revitalising coastal air!  

The TGV also provides daily links from Lyon to Brest and Quimper (via Rennes or Le Mans) and once a week from Lille to Brest. For information, call 36 35 when in France, ask at train stations or Boutiques SNCF (ticket offices in towns and shopping centres) and online: tgv.com or voyages-sncf.com

By boat

If you live across the Channel, why not choose a crossing on one of the many ferries that come to Roscoff? Connections from Plymouth or Cork with Brittany Ferries, and from Rosslare with Irish Ferries.
