L'île de Sein

The beautiful island of Sein

Just above sea-level in the Iroise sea, symbol of liberation of France from Nazi occupation, the island of Sein with its narrow streets and numerous nooks is full of charm… This “end of the world” just 9 km away from the Pointe du Raz is the place of your next memorable stay!

“Marie-Caillou” is your guide for a tour on the island. From the slipway and the banks to the heart of Sein, you will learn all about the island’s history and everyday life.
In your picnic basket, you will find local products from Cap-Sizun that have been specially selected: smoked fish, organic pork, goat or cow (“pie-noir”) milk cheese, cereal salad and raw vegetables.

You will love to discover small gift shops or to stroll along the banks and in the narrow streets, dreaming of the storm which will hold you back on Sein and prevent you from going back to land…

The offer includes
  • Return tickets
  • Picnic basket
  • Departure from Esquibien: 9am or 9.30am depending on the season.
  • Departure from Sein: 3.5pm, 4pm, 5pm or 6.15pm depending on the season.

Price: 54.50 € to 57.50 € according to the season.

Where to sleep?
Wanting to stay? Le “Refuge de Mer” is one of the last testimonies of the island’s architecture, typical of the Spanish occupation during the 16th-century “Ligue War”. Restored and designed like a boat, it is functional and comfortable at the same time. In the living room, you will find books about the island’s history and an old VHF radio to hear the weather forecast and messages to sailors. It reminds that the sea is not so far away…
