To discover: the regional museum of lighthouses and beacons

At the foot of Créac'h, legendary lighthouse that guides ships on one of the busiest shipping routes, the museum traces Lighthouse and Beacon for 20 years on the island of Ushant in the history of the Lighthouse. It has beautiful pieces of optical and includes most everyday stories of these great technical and human adventure.

National Heritage

Since 2010, eight lighthouses in Finistère have been listed as National Heritage (Monuments Historiques) : lighthouse of Pontusval in Brignogan, lighthouse and former lighthouse of Île Vierge in Plouguerneau, Stiff lighthouse and Créac'h lighthouse on Ouessant island, Saint-Mathieu lighthouse in Plougonvelin and lighthouse and former lighthouse of Eckmühl in Penmarc'h.

In December 2015, 14 new lighthouses have been listed in Brittany, among which 11 are in Finistère! the lighthouse of Île de Batz, the lighthouse in Le Chenal du Fou, the lighthouse of Kéréon (off the coasts of Ouessant and Molène), the lighthouse of La Jument (Ouessant), the lighthouse of Nividic, the lighthouse of Pierres Noires, the lighthouse of Tévennec and La Vieille facing la Pointe du Raz, the lighthouse of Île de Sein and the one of Ar-Men off the island, and the lighthouse of Penfret on Glénan Archipelago.

Semaphores open to the public

Each year in July and August, Finistère's semaphores are open to the public on certain dates (prior booking is required at the tourist office).
