Fun and freedom - safe cycle routes....

Conquer Monts d’Arrée - with a little help!

Wouldn't it be great to enjoy the beautiful landscapes of the Monts d’Arrée even if you're not terribly sporty? Thankfully, a bright spark in Plonéour Menez thought of introducing VAE (vélos à assitance électrique) which are electrically-assisted bikes, capable of travelling 70 km on one charged battery, an extremely comfortable and leisurely option for exploring this increible region.

At the foot of the Monts d'Arrée you'll find a VAE rental point, for pleasure without the pain. Three circuits have been designed for this type of bike, using country roads: the Abbey Circuit (18km), the Weavers Circuit (26km) and the Wolf Circuit (45km).

Each circuit has a map showing the relevant sites and stop-offs, and each cyclist is provided with a helmet and fluorescent vest for safety.

Go and discover the rich rural heritage, the Abbaye du Relec, Musée du Loup wolf museum, the remarkable countryside of Cragou, Trédudon le Moine (Brittany's first Resistance village), the recently improved Green Way of Morlaix-Carhaix , the weavers' houses, the unusual parish churchyards of Plounéour Menez... and of course the legendary Monts d'Arrée.

For mountain bikers, three signposted trails provide all the challenges you're seeking, from wild peaks to green valleys: St-Barnabé 15 km (with 242 m difference in altitude), le Relec 18 km (400 m difference) et Le Cloître 31 km (562 m difference).
